An optional post-Retreat extension at the tip of Africa

From the African bush to the Cape

The adventure doesn't have to end when we leave the bush.

Following Spotlight: South Africa, guests are invited to optionally extend their journey with us to Cape Town for four remarkable nights exploring one of the world's most spectacular cities and the landscapes that surround it.

From the summit of Table Mountain and the dramatic coastline of the Cape Peninsula to African penguins, celebrated wine estates and long lunches overlooking the vineyards, this optional post-Retreat add-on brings together some of the very best of the Cape.

And, just like Spotlight, we'll take care of the details.

With luxury accommodation, private transportation, carefully selected dining and a program created especially for our group, all you need to do is come along and enjoy the journey.

Cape Town takes center-stage

After five unforgettable days at Kapama, we'll leave the African bush behind and travel south to Cape Town, where mountains tumble towards the Atlantic and an entirely different side of South Africa awaits.

Our home for the next four nights will be the Radisson Collection Hotel Waterfront, spectacularly positioned on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean with views across the water and towards Robben Island. Just moments from the V&A Waterfront, it provides the perfect base from which to explore Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula and the Winelands.

After arriving in Cape Town, the afternoon is yours to settle in, relax and enjoy your new surroundings before we come together for our first evening in the Cape.

As the sun begins to set over the Atlantic, we'll raise a glass before enjoying dinner together and beginning the next chapter of our Spotlight journey.

Where mountains meet the sea

Cape Peninsula

Today we'll leave the city behind and follow the spectacular coastline of the Cape Peninsula.

Our journey takes us along the Atlantic Seaboard, past some of Cape Town's most beautiful beaches and across the legendary Chapman's Peak Drive, with mountains rising on one side and the ocean stretching out on the other.

We'll continue south to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, where dramatic cliffs and wild coastline create one of South Africa's most iconic landscapes.

And no journey around the Peninsula would be complete without meeting some of its most famous residents.

At Boulders Beach, we'll encounter a colony of African penguins living amongst the sheltered beaches and enormous granite boulders of False Bay.

Along the way, we'll stop for a leisurely lunch in a beautiful coastal setting before making our way back to Cape Town later that afternoon.

Epic Winelands

Beyond Cape Town lies another of South Africa's great landscapes.

Surrounded by dramatic mountains and rolling vineyards, the historic Cape Winelands are home to some of the country's most celebrated estates, exceptional restaurants and centuries of winemaking tradition.

We'll spend the day exploring Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, visiting carefully selected estates for private tastings and discovering the food, wine and stories of the region.

At the heart of the day will be a long, relaxed lunch surrounded by vineyards and some of the Cape's most spectacular scenery.

We'll return to Cape Town in the late afternoon, with the evening left free for you to discover the city at your own pace, enjoy one of its many excellent restaurants or simply relax at the hotel.

Table Mountain - African Wonder

Few places reveal the beauty of Cape Town quite like Table Mountain.

Weather permitting, we'll travel by cableway to the summit, more than 1,000 metres above the city, for extraordinary views across Cape Town, Table Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding mountains.

Back at sea level, we'll discover more of the city itself, with time to explore some of Cape Town's history, neighbourhoods and character before enjoying lunch together.

The afternoon is yours.

Explore the V&A Waterfront, browse the shops and galleries, return to the hotel for some downtime or simply find somewhere beautiful to sit and watch Cape Town go by.

Because tonight, we'll come together one final time. From our first safari at Kapama to our final sunset in Cape Town, we'll have travelled together through some of the most remarkable landscapes in South Africa.

Our Cape Town extension concludes with a special farewell evening created exclusively for our group. One last chance to share the stories, photographs and friendships created along the way. And one final Spotlight memory before we say goodbye.
