Rather than bringing an audience into a theater for a few hours, Spotlight brings together a select group of guests, extraordinary musical theater artists and one remarkable destination over several days.

In South Africa, that means safari by day and music by night - with performances, conversations, dining and time in the African bush all woven into one journey.

It isn't a concert with a safari attached. The destination is part of the story.

Spotlight is open to everyone who has an appreciation for musical theater - as well as partners and guests who love travel, culture, and shared experiences. The program is designed so that everyone can fully enjoy the journey. Spotlight is exclusively for adult guests and is not suitable for children.

Kapama can accommodate many dietary requirements and food allergies when notified in advance. Please provide complete details after booking so that these can be shared with the hospitality team ahead of your arrival.

Yes! A $2000 deposit will secure your place. The balance can be paid in 3 x installments of $2630. All major payment methods are accepted.

Yes. Many guests attend on their own and quickly become part of the group. Because the experience is intentionally small and social, solo travelers often find it one of the warmest and most connected travel experiences they have had. It is important to note that safaris are priced on a per room basis. Where two guests share a room, the total room price is divided between the two guests and may be displayed as a per-person rate for convenience. Guests traveling alone and occupying a room on their own are responsible for the full price of that room.

Alternatively - solo travelers can take advantage of Spotlight’s Request Share program, which helps pair you with another single traveler of the same gender. Neither guest then pays the single supplement allowing for maximum savings.

We know that booking an international journey requires significant commitment and advance planning.

Spotlight is a intimate, limited-capacity retreat. Months ahead of the event, we commit on your behalf to the lodge, the artists, the musicians, transfers and production. For this reason, all payments are non-refundable once made, including the deposit. If you are on an installment plan, cancelling doesn't cancel the remaining installments.

If you can't travel, you have options:

• Transfer your place. You can pass your booking to a friend or family member at no charge, up to 21 days before the retreat.

• Talk to us early. The sooner you let our Guest Services Team know, the more we can help.

Travel insurance is required for all guests. We recommend buying it as soon as you book, with cancellation cover for the full cost of your trip, so you're protected if the unexpected happens.

Spotlight takes place at the Kapama Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger area. Guests typically fly into Johannesburg or Cape Town, with direct onward connections to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport. Detailed travel guidance will be provided to all confirmed guests.

Yes. All guests are required to hold comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation and potential travel disruptions.
